There are some decisions you question and think, “Why on earth did I spend money and do that?!” Well, that’s not the case here. My wife and I signed up for the prix fixe Chef’s Table dinner by Gia’s new executive chef, and it was a night to remember. We were greeted at the door by their friendly manager who showed us to our table. This was our first time here and we loved the eclectic, industrial/modern feel to the place. And a bar that needs a ladder? Yes please. First course was a decadent shrimp and salmon app on top of a bed of spinach, topped with a crispy prosciutto. The flavors just went on and on... This course was accompanied by a Pinot Noir from Alsace. Perfect pairing. Next, we were brought an oozing Panko and spice crusted mozzarella which was bathed in the best homemade tomato sauce. Did I mention the garlic on top that just melted in your mouth? And the dry German Riesling was a great enhancer to the crisp and acidic flavors of the cheese and tomato sauce. The third course was honestly one of the best rack of lambs I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth tender and packed with flavor. The robust red from the Rhone Valley couldn’t have been any better. Dessert was a fried cheesecake that was exceptionally tasty, both from the crisp outside to the oozy inside (yes had to use a form of ooze twice in this write up since it was that good). The reverse White Russian packed a punch at the end as well. This isn’t your innocent baby little White Russian. This was a pack your bags and don’t look back type with some kick, just my style. It was too strong for my wife, so I had the luxury of drinking two of these beauties. Have to say, we will be coming back over and over for their regular menu. Thanks for a night to remember! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5

If you look at my other reviews you will see that this rating is highly unusual from me. I celebrated a birthday with a friend here and my experience across the board was fantastic. The only issue I had was fixed with salt. Hats off to Tiarra. Her service was friendly, attentive and informed. I hope our table’s tip reflected our appreciation adequately. When I have another opportunity I will return, bring others and request her as a server. This is everything a high end restaurant should be.

We had a reservation for two. We showed up as three. Normally, that’s the kind of math that gets you the side-eye, or at best, a long wait near a hostess stand straining under pressure. But not at Gia. With the dining room full and no tables in sight, we resigned ourselves to a cozy corner at the bar, content to sip and snack. Then, in a move of pure hospitality serendipity, a staff member approached and offered us a freshly vacated six-top table—yes, for just the three of us. A small, almost cinematic gesture, but a big reminder that kindness still lives in service. Gia’s menu doesn’t overreach. It reads more like a confident short story collection than a maximalist novel—each item purposeful, none filler. We shared the fried artichokes, lightly crisped and generous enough to warrant some fork duels. I ordered the soup of the day and frites, expecting a simple pairing. What arrived was a carrot and pear soup so deeply flavorful and balanced, it could hold court in any Manhattan bistro. The frites? Golden, hot, and not oversold. My father, a lox connoisseur in his own right, gave the smoked salmon a quiet nod of approval (which is saying something). My mother opted for a burrata with seasonal vegetables—vibrant, creamy, and refreshing. And while the food stood on its own, our waitress elevated the afternoon. She was patient, attentive, and handled my parents’ relentless stream of corny jokes with good humor and grace, a far harder feat than plate timing. Gia isn’t trying to be a destination restaurant. That’s what makes it one. It’s sharp without being sharp-edged, warm without the wool. And it turns out, Greensboro has room for a place that can pivot with grace, serve with heart, and surprise you with soup.

My husband and I went to Gias for the first time tonight and we will be back! Riley was our server and they did an incredible job with everything! Such great service! The frites and Maryland style crab cakes were my favorite along with the Ginger Pomegranate Margarita! We highly recommend!

The December Cocktail Class at GIA, was absolutely incredible. They were highlighting cocktails for Christmas, which were out of this world. The service and food there is always first class. But the effort that Jish out into the preparation for the first cocktail in the class was extraordinary. The attention to the detail and presentation of this drink was by far, exceptional. If you have never been to one of their cocktail classes, they are highly recommended

We had such a wonderful experience hosting our son’s rehearsal dinner at GIA. We would highly recommend Eric Snow and his team for any special occasion. The menu he crafted was perfect. The level of expertise in set up, design and delivery superb. Chef Mark came out to meet us, as did the owner, head waiter and banquet staff. The food was excellent! The service top notch and the atmosphere - elegant and intimate. Thank you all again for making a memorable and special evening!!
